Shane Warne appointed Mentor of Rajasthan Royals


Shane Warne appointed Mentor of Rajasthan Royals for the upcoming season of Indian Premier League. He has some great memories and Fantastic moments with Rajasthan Royals as they had won an inaugural season of IPL under his captaincy.

Warne is a fan favorite in Jaipur after enjoying the part of coach and captain for the Royals from the Twenty20 league’s inaugural year as they won the championship, together with fellow Australian Shane Watson named the player of the championship.

I’ll be joining Rajasthan Royals in the IPL in 2018 as a team mentor, Warne spread this word through his Instagram.

I’m very thankful for the opportunity I’ve been given to be a team mentor for the Royals, I’m really looking forward to it and being back involved. I’ve had so many wonderful memories, especially from 2008 when we won that inaugural year.

Warne played four seasons with Rajasthan, retiring in the IPL following the 2011 season, but returns since the franchise come straight out of a two-year exile enforced after the spot-fixing scandal in 2013. Chennai Super Kings Team and Rajasthan Royals Teams were two teams those were banned from participating in Indian premier league. In substitute of them, Rising Pune Supergiants and Gujarat Lions were played in Indian Premier League.

Rajasthan Royals team has contentious England all-rounder Ben Stokes, also England’s Jos Buttler, in addition to Jofra Archer, the Barbados-born quick bowler who shot to fame from BBL|07 with Hobart Hurricanes.

Warne ranks his IPL success highly amongst his professional accolades.

Out of everything I’ve achieved with the Australian Cricket team and personally too, winning the IPL as Capt/Coach with the squad we had in the first ever year in 2008 was so very special and amazing to all of us who were involved, Warne wrote on Twitter.

He added he was looking forward to working with the Rajasthan squad he tipped to achieve some special things.

The guys have done a wonderful job putting this squad together,” 

There are so many talented Indian players, international players, senior players, young junior players. It is a wonderful squad and I think it can achieve some special things in 2018.
